Auto-One Group is Toronto’s Premier Hi-Line & Commercial Vehicle Lease, Sales & Service organization and is searching for a highly aggressive, dynamic and experienced Sales Manager for its Lease Division. The position is located in Toronto, Ontario

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will manage the strategic growth of the Lease Division. This will be accomplished by the servicing of the existing client base, with new business development being your focus. You will be responsible for such areas as; managing the recruitment, selection, training and ongoing management of the sales team, business development, marketing, strategic planning, competitive analysis, facilitating meetings, risk management, public speaking and involvement in the local community.

Ideally, you are a proven Automotive Sales Manager with experience in automotive fleet leasing and possess a track record of establishing strong client relationships. We will also consider individuals from the accounting or financial services areas of the dealership as potential candidates because of their knowledge of and formal training in business operations and profit management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish Lease departmental objectives and pursue them through planning, organizing, controlling and measuring performance.
  • Prepare and manage an annual operating budget for the lease department.
  • Work with the General Manager in forecasting controllable expense items for the lease department.
  • Comprehend, keep current and comply with federal and provincial laws that affect leases.
  • Aid in the development of marketing campaigns and customer retention programs for the lease department.
  • Hire, educate, motivate, train, guide and evaluate the performance of staff. Direct salespeople in setting their objectives on a short and long term basis.
  • Communicate lease department and other general policies and procedures to Lease Account Managers to ensure they are understood and followed. Conduct daily and weekly sales training sessions.
  • Monitor the efforts of Lease Account Manages to improve the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the lease department.
  • Assists Lease Account Managers in closing deals when necessary.
  • Make a minimum of 1 in client visit per Lease Account Manager per week.
  • Plans, directs and coordinate all Lease Sales activities for the Lease Sales team including personal sales with key accounts.
  • Responsible for achievement of annual sales objectives by the Lease Sales team.
  • Conducts sales meetings, hires and trains new Lease Representatives.
  • Ensures that Sales team adheres to all documentation and credit requirements as established by the General Manager.
  • Responsible for all weekly and monthly sales reporting statistical information to the General Manager.
  • To develop “aftermarket” business sales opportunities (ie: extended warranties, life & disability insurance sales etc.)
  • Assists General Manager in establishing pricing policies.
  • Approves all lease structures within authorized limits, providing credit has been approved.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • A post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of experience in a sales environment, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proven track record in meeting aggressive sales goals and targets.
  • Good organizational and time management skills as related to this position.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people;
  • Proven ability to coach and develop staff to achieve their individual sales targets and objectives.
  • Advanced knowledge and comfort level with various computer software programs i.e. Word and Excel
  • Sound judgement/decision making skills.
