Position Objective:
The Regional Sales Manager has the overall responsibility for dealership performance and operations. In addition, the position will coordinate the efforts of the Regional Team in all related matters to market representation, dealership profitability and customer relations management. Additionally the Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for the planning and attainment of vehicle wholesale and retail objectives as well as the development of marketing initiatives within the assigned regional area.
Job Description:
- Responsible for the attainment of regional vehicle retail, wholesale, pre-owned, T-equipment and Driver’s Selection by Porsche Design sales objectives on a monthly and yearly bases by individual model line.
- Submit monthly retail forecast on a National level to Sales Department to support monthly retail sales planning forecast.
- Summarize and publish key national competitor activities including advertising, tactical offers, incentives, new model launch calendars for use by senior management and dealership staff.
- Review and analyze Porsche KPI in regards to new car sales performance and in order to identify growth opportunities especially considering development in the areas of Market Share, Share of Nation, Order Demands, and Pump-in/-out.
- Manage and support utilization of PCL Sales Support Programs.
- Conduct on-site dealer audits to ensure compliance with PCL Sales Policy and Procedures
- Review and follow-up of annual marketing plans with the management team of each individual Porsche Centre to identify opportunities and maximize penetration. Monthly follow-up required to ensure implementation or adjustments that may become necessary as the market develops.
- Implement dealer action plans and ensures deliverables are achieved through the AIM Field Contact Reporting System.
- Counsel dealers in planning and developing Corporate Identity advertising, merchandising and promotional activities determined for specific market activity.
- Assist in developing and implementing a market representation plan to ensure dealer placement and Corporate Identity facility in conjunction with the Network Development Department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, automotive degree or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred
- 7+ years’ experience in the areas of automotive wholesale Sales, Marketing, Market Representation and/or Business Management. Retail automotive experiences a plus.
- 4+ years of previous relevant field experience (in-dealership contacts) required.
- Varying amounts of overnight travel (up to 80%) is required/participation in special events (auto shows/dealer-customer events) during evenings/weekends may be required.
- Ability to work independently as well as in (international) teams
- High level of written, oral communication/presentation and sales forecasting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Ability to develop and articulate an operational strategy for regional team and assigned dealers.
- Ability to effectively negotiate or mediate difficult situations.
