Focus: 

The Manager, Inventory Control monitors the inventory control process and is responsible for the optimum level of parts and accessories to meet the growing business demands of the Subaru network of dealers. The Manager will also determine the logistical requirements of parts and accessory imports from multiple partners globally. Furthermore, the Manager has two direct team members to assist in developing and executing industry leading inventory and logistics processes that will support Subaru Canada’s strategic business goals. This individual will be based out of Subaru Canada’s Head Office in Mississauga, Ontario and will report to the Director, After Sales – Parts Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ordering parts and accessories that are sold to the Subaru dealer network across Canada. It is a function shared with the Parts Inventory Control Coordinator.
  • Maintains an appropriate level of inventory (dollar value and month’s supply) to support the growing parts and accessory sales to the dealer network.
  • Maintain an appropriate line fill rate as it relates to the parts/accessory sales to the dealer network.
  • Directly responsible for ordering accessories used in SCI’s Port Program. The accessories are distributed to and installed at the various compounds across Canada on vehicles arriving from SIA (USA) or SBR (Japan).
  • Analyze, determine and monitor the logistics requirements for all imports of parts/accessories from suppliers located in the United States to ensure a reasonable and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manages, mentors and develops two direct team members.
  • Develop and manage reporting mechanisms, develop and share inventory and logistics best practices.
  • Work closely with SCI Information Technology (I.T.) to manage current systems and/or advise, develop and implement newer efficient systems and processes.
  • Support other areas of the Part department relating but not limited to parts pricing, accessory development, parts/accessory programs, Dealership issues, etc.

Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • Proven inventory control management and/or related experience.
  • Obtained or working towards a Certified Supply Chain Professional certification (CSCP) or equivalent professional certification.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Professionalism & confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate tasks to subordinates.
  • Excellent problem-solving, multitasking and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Physical Conditions:

  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Minimal travel.
  • Standard office environment (sitting & computer use for extended periods of time)
