Position Objective:
Manage and monitor the Canadian environmental affairs in cooperation with the Porsche AG and Porsche North America. Represent Porsche to all levels of government in Canada and strengthen the communication with authorities and Porsche’s various trade associations. Bundling of all Canadian certification activities as well as functions that determine essential input parameters for the certification or technical provisions. Ensure all required reports are submitted to government authorities and the information to flow with PAG in case of local modifications. Ensure the timely environmental certification of our product line in time to meet PCL objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and managing properly all environmental regulatory obligations
• Steering vehicle certification in conjunction with PAG and PCNA
• Collecting and interpretation of legal information
• Reports to the involved parties
• Formal application for certification at authorities
• Detection of non-conformities
• Pre-clarification of measures with authorities
• Identification of Porsche relevant legislative topics, and proposal of adequate measures if necessary
• Interaction with authorities, organizations and associations such as GAC
• Support managing timeline and key deliverables for execution of recalls
• Coordinates with Volkswagen of Canada, PCNA, Porsche AG and external authorities

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor or College degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial
• Engineering
• Thorough understanding of Canadian regulation, guidance, policy
• Advanced knowledge of certification processes

Experience:

• 3+ years’ work experience with automotive OEMs in regulatory affairs and compliance field

Skills and Competencies:

• English fluently (oral and written), French and German preferred.
• Ability to understand and work with complex technical regulations and analyze how they impact vehicle design
• Ability to quickly understand newly emerging technologies
• Ability to maintain and nurture good working relationships with governmental, legislators, and industry trade associations
• Ability to communicate, both written and orally, to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Natural leadership ability; team player with consensual approach
• Superior organization, communication and reporting skills
• Systematic thinker; ability to work at conceptual and detail levels
• Advanced PC skills with accent on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
• Self-directed, requiring limited supervision
• Willingness to travel as required
