Currently, they are seeking a results-driven Regional Controller to manage and support their United States dealerships and have partnered with the Marckis Group to assist in building their team.

The Regional Controller reports to the CFO and is directly responsible for overall operations, coordination, and continuous improvements of the Financial / Accounting Departments in six (6) of our dealership operations in the United States. The ideal candidate will be required to have an onsite presence including the possibility of travel between our dealership locations in Santa Monica, CA, Issaquah, WA, and Kalispell, MT.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts and handle general ledger analysis for all U.S.A. entitles.
  • Ensure all scheduled accounts, warranty claims, rebates, parts, and vehicle inventory are current and accurate.
  • Oversee and manage dealership financial activities, such as the cash flow, preparation of budgets, auditing financial reports and books of accounts, purchases, fixed assets, and insurance.
  • Analyze and review wholesale liability.
  • Assist operations with dealership forecasting and budgeting.
  • Conduct an analytical review of monthly financial statements highlighting; deviations from budget, and unusual increases/decreases in revenue and expenses.
  • Regularly analyze financial reports and the daily control of operations and notify the General Managers and CFO of developing trends.
  • Oversee and manage Office Managers and Accounting team in our United States dealership operations.
  • Attract, retain, and develop the accounting team via coaching, mentoring, career development and performance management feedback. Provide development and succession planning opportunities for team members.
  • Establish and manage financial controls for our U.S.A dealership operations that ensure the highest level of accountability, risk mitigation, and internal control/regulatory compliance.
  • Integrate and train new staff while leading the continued professional development of the existing team.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Accounting, Finance and/or related field.
  • CPA Designation.
  • Minimum of five (5)+ years of experience in a related position.
  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP Accounting Principles, practices, and applications.
  • Prior experience in accounting and business operations in the automotive industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performance teams.
  • Self-directed, motivated, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive continual improvements.
  • Ability to cultivate strong working relationships with various areas within the organization and interact with employees at all levels of the company, customers, and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Well organized, detailed orientated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks and/or projects.
