General Overview:

The Business Development Manager – Fleet Sales role is responsible for developing new business nationally – home based in Ontario, Canada. Responsible for generating lease and services revenue for Donlen and establishing strong client relationships. The target fleet size will be between 30-200 units for core activity but will have no limit on maximum size.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate recent success selling to large organizations (Fortune 500, High profile brands, national/international presence).

Job Description:

  • Developing and maintaining a database of prospects and customers within an assigned geographic region in a fleet size segment as defined by management
  • Frequent updates of activity status are critical
  • Generating appointments/sales calls
  • Developing Donlen value proposition with the goal of signing new business from prospects and penetrating existing customer portfolios
  • Reviewing and analyzing credit worthiness of prospects and customers as determined by Donlen policies and procedures
  • Selling all Donlen approved financial and service programs
  • Managing a robust sales funnel with laser focus on meeting or exceeding annual growth targets
  • Entering all client data in SalesForce on a regular and timely basis
  • Successful closing of accounts
  • Achieving targeted financial goals as established by Donlen Management Team
  • Provide strategic account management for portfolio of customers focused on client retention, and maximizing penetration of all programs
  • Providing consultative advice to customers and prospects (i.e. Annual and/or Quarterly Performance Reviews, Replacement Analysis, Best Value Analysis; Scorecards)
  • Creating a positive image of Donlen Corporation at local business functions
  • Coordinating with marketing staff to optimize lead generation and sales support functions
  • Managing sales activity reporting monthly
  • Managing monthly expenses

Professional Experience:

  • 5+ years financial sales experience and vehicle leasing experience preferred
  • Complex relational selling is required
  • High degree of business acumen
  • Excellent ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must have a demonstrated track record of being a top-achiever
  • Goal-oriented sales professional with discipline to work independently is required
  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and/or complaints
  • Superior written, verbal and presentation skills, and professional presence are required
  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, including contracts
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and/or complaints
  • Level I FleetWeb® certification (internal) required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to develop complex financial analysis and solutions
  • Proficiency in the use of PC based financial and mathematical software programs is a must to develop strategies
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interact with peers, management, prospects and customers in written and oral form
  • Fundamental understanding of relationship selling
  • French Language is considered an asset
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
