Position: Vice President Purchasing & Inventory Reports to: President Company: Bestbuy Distributors Limited Location: Mississauga, ON Date Posted: May 2018 Job Profile: Bestbuy Distributors Limited requires a dedicated individual focused the overall inventory and ongoing purchasing programs of the corporation. As a senior member of the company’s management team, reporting directly to the President, it will be a requirement for the candidate to work in a fast paced collaborative, team environment with a consistent interface with staff, shareholders, vendors and customers. This individual will be fully responsible for handling all aspects of the company’s inventory and ensure product availability through daily/regular reviews of product inventory fill rates inbound from vendors, and outbound to members. Where necessary, perform due diligence activities to meet and assess potential new vendors, and then effectively onboard new vendors. Meet with existing vendors to maintain relationships and review annual returns. Conduct rigorous inventory price management to ensure price competitiveness of both DS and DC channels. Oversee and coordinate product line reviews to see what old products to remove and what new products to bring in and review line consolidation opportunities within DC’s. Key Responsibilities:

  • Stocking decisions: Market knowledge vs. system driven
  • Stocking decisions: Vendor managed vs. category managed
  • Analysis and negotiation of current Vendor agreements
  • All Bestbuy programs – DC and Drop Ship
  • Fill-rate management
  • Current program development and communication of details
  • Ongoing relationship development and regular contact with Vendors
  • Line reviews –schedule
  • Lead vendor meetings
  • Oversee Price file updates
  • Confirm competitive pricing on parts through market data and internal Sales Team input
  • Oversee the maintenance of vendor database
  • New vendor planning
  • Strategic product line offering development
  Skills & Experience:
  • A Post-Secondary Education and a minimum equivalency of 10 years Automotive Aftermarket experience
  • Strong analytical skills a must
  • Strategic planning and vendor relationship skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experienced working knowledge with the AS400 (I-Series) computer system would be an asset for this position
