Major Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Greet customers immediately in a courteous manner
  • Sell products to repair the problem and meet the customer’s needs
  • Provide service technicians with parts as required
  • Record all sales and /or customer transactions that occur
  • Follow prescribed cash, credit and cheque processing procedures of the dealership
  • Attend training as prescribed by management to maintain proficiency in his/her job description
  • Use dealership equipment and resources safely and proficiently
  • Assis in keeping parts department clean and orderly
  • Assist in handling customer complaints and concerns and make sure the problem is corrected to the customer and dealership’s satisfaction
  • Treat customer fairly and with honesty, and demonstrate our commitment to superior customer service and ethical business practices
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, and employees and owners
  • Perform other tasks as required by Parts Manager
  • Be early, flexible and available for scheduling
  • Demonstrate an interest in growing the parts business
  • Keep himself/herself groomed and clothed per the dealership guidelines

 

Business Skills Required: 

  • Ability to greet customers, establish rapport, determine and attend to customers’ needs
  • Ability to match customers’ needs with appropriate parts or services
  • Knowledge of automotive systems in general
  • Knowledge of parts counter procedures, such as requiring prepayment for special orders
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to monitor bins and determine which parts need reordering
  • Ability to accurately track parts
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to thrive in a fast paced, changing environment
