Our client, VinFast Auto Canada Inc., is in the early stages of executing their ambitious growth plans in Canada with a ‘Direct-to-Consumer’ business model and an aggressive retail and aftersales facility expansion over the next 12 months.

Position

We are currently seeking a Sales Operations Director  that will have overall responsibility and accountability in a wide variety of critical areas.

Key Responsibilities

The Sales Operations Director will develop and maintain effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders, external partners, and third-party vendors to collaborate in the following areas:

  • IT – establish Business Intelligence tools / analytics tools for both Sales and Delivery organization. Ensure tools are configured to track reservations by location, demographics information etc.
  • Manufacturing in Vietnam and Sales in Canada – ensure vehicle & parts ordering/ tracking / System is in place.
  • Sales organization and manufacturing – develop vehicle ordering system (ensure color and vehicle options mix are as efficiently ordered as possible. At SOP – will be responsible for submitting orders to manufacturing on a monthly/ quarterly basis.
  • Business / Government Affairs and Department of Motor Vehicles – ensure business licenses and system are in place prior to and when homologation process is complete which make vehicles salable in Canada.
  • Business and Gov Affairs/ Real Estate – establish appropriate business licenses, sales licenses, and vehicles sales licenses.
  • Government Affairs – ensure VinFast is registered for state and federal incentives prior to start of deliveries. Develop internal processes to efficiently process registration paperwork.
  • Logistics – organise and manage importation and inland logistics of VinFast electric vehicles and parts.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive work experience in sales and operations with at least 3-5 years working in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of vehicle import supply chains, processes, procedures, shipping methods, port requirements, costs, and third-party transportation providers.
  • Experience working in vehicle and parts logistics operations, distribution, port operations, transportation/logistics management.
  • Global, ex-pat, start-up, and/or direct experience in the automotive/EV space preferred but not necessary. Prefer background with companies known for best practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of new vehicle transportation industry methods, distribution networks, and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree. Applicable advanced degree(s) preferred.

  • Flexible and adaptable; able to deal well with modifications and changes to operating plans. Can implement new strategies and tactics to accommodate these changes.
  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment.
  • Recognizes cultural and work style differences and can adjust approach to meet the needs of such work environments.
