Position: Manager, Product Quality and Technical Training

The Position Objective: 

The Manager, Product Quality and Technical Training will lead and manage all aspects that relate to technical dealer support, product and workshop quality, technical training, technical services and new technologies as well future Electrification. In this role, Technical and Training teams are being managed with emphasis on exceeding dealer and customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Develop and manage technical support to ensure that fast and precise support is provided to the dealer network and supervise difficult or unusual repairs. Ensure prompt handling of all escalated online technical support tickets (PRMS). Work closely with Front-desk engineering and Porsche AG to ensure fast resolution of technical issues at the dealership.
  • Product Quality: Managing and Investigate of product issues to recognize new product complaints while, providing technical advice for the technical and training team. Ensure ongoing process improvements and oversee field analysis as well continuous information exchange with Porsche AG and Porsche Cars North America.
  • Workshop Quality and Processes: Managing and supporting the Field Technical Manager in optimizing the workshop process according to the Service Process Standards.
  • Technical Services: Manages the special tool / equipment refurbished for new and existent Porsche Centres according to the Porsche Standards.
  • Technical Training: Developing Technical Training strategy, programs and After Sales operation and process training based on training needs analysis for Canadian Porsche Centre personnel. Monitoring technical training KPI, supporting and managing the Training Center.
  • Electrification: Managing the implementation of a mobile High Voltage Expert (HVE) Repair and home charging as well new systems such as such as ‘Over The Air’ or Connectivity technologies.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineering, or equivalent work experience

Experience (Job and Industry):

5+ years’ automotive technical retail/wholesale experience.

Experience in technical dealer support and After Sales Workshop operations, Technical Training and Project management.

Skills:

  • Excellent technical knowledge of automobiles, Porsche preferred
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Strong capability to innovate and ability to integrate
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with strong social competencies, like team building and management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, spelling, grammar and composition skills
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Professional, pleasant customer service oriented manner.
